Contract: 9 weeks, 30 hours/week, up to 270 hours for the contract
Start and End Dates: July 2nd until August 30th (270 hours/9 weeks)
Reports to: Executive Director
Hourly Wage: $22, plus 4% vacation pay
Location: Charlie’s FreeWheels, 242.5 Queen St. E., Toronto

Charlie’s Freewheels uses bicycles to support the development of empowered young leaders, and self-assured young cyclists. We do this by improving youth access to bicycles, facilitating bicycle-related skill development, and inspiring youth to ride with confidence.
Job description
The Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Executive Director with administrative, communications and programming tasks during Charlie’s FreeWheels’ (CFW) peak programming season. The Administrative Coordinator will play an important role to make sure we reach as many Toronto youth as possible with program updates, events, and resources. The role also includes planning and leading group bicycle rides for program participants. Training for this will be provided.
Duties & Responsibilities
Preparing website and social media posts
Creating other advertising materials as needed to illustrate the impact of CFW’s programs and ensure ongoing outreach
Planning, promoting and leading group rides for program participants
Meeting with the supervisor on a weekly basis to confirm communication and programming plans and update schedules
Recording, analyzing, and generating reports on digital outreach results to be shared with the CFW team
Responding to emails, phone calls and inquiries
Working conditions and physical requirements
The Administrative Assistant’s tasks will take place mostly in person and on site. Occasional remote work may be permitted for specific projects. The Administrative Coordinator may be required to move bicycles and heavy boxes containing supplies. Assistance and accommodation can be provided to the best of our abilities.
Qualifications
Experience in graphic design, advertising, social media content writing;
Proficiency in using social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin;
A basic understanding of web design tools;
Enthusiasm for learning more about the operations of a nonprofit community bike shop;
A patient, constructive and supportive attitude when working with others;
Previous participation in Charlie’s FreeWheels programs is an asset;
Experience in community and youth work is an asset;
Ability to communicate in languages other than English is an asset:

Work Schedule
The Administrative Assistant’s hours will be subject to discussion and agreement with the supervisor. The Administrative Assistant will be expected to work on evenings and weekends, subject to Charlie’s FreeWheels’ programming schedule. As per Canada Summer Jobs requirement, the candidate must commit to 30 hours of work per week during the employment period.
