Ways to Get Yourself Killed (on a bike) pt.2

Thus far you have avoided breaking some bones because you managed to NOT slip into the street car track. You also have been safely navigating the road, not jumping out and startling anyone, and causing an accident.

While running away from the cops because of your stolen bike, you thief.

Yet, there are some obstacles for you to overcome before you're home-free. Specifically, a red light stopping you, and some strategic side-walk riding.

Ways to Get Yourself Killed (on a bike) (part 1)

People who know me well, know that I'm full of great advice... usually… I think.

So here we go again with my two cents. Although, convert that into actual currency and it's probably worth a hundredth of a real penny.

Anyway, let's say you, a regular John or Jane (funny enough, one of our mechanic's name is Jane), pick up a bike on the street and decide you want to ride it regularly. Where did that bike come from? I don't know, maybe it fell from heaven, who knows. Why are you picking up someone else's bike? You thief.

Bike Laws, Safety & Other Cool Things

Hey Folks,

Our news posts have been about bike collisions and death. I've wrote a few suggestions how we can, on an individual level, avoid such incidents.

I'm a relatively new biker, so who cares about what I have to say, right?

Ha, no really though, here are some links to the City of Toronto website with some tips.

These include safety tips on car-bike collisions and avoiding them, sidewalk use (simply put, don't ride on them), streetcar tracks, and tips for drivers with trucks and cyclists

Also, if you have the time, make sure you're familiar with, or at least review, bicycle violations

There's also lots of other cool stuff on the City of Toronto Website for cycling.

Stay safe!

Coroner to Review Ontario Cycling Deaths

Here's something interesting in the (old) news.

Globe and Mail Article

My Word (for whatever it's worth... which is probably a lot. Stop looking at me like I'm crazy):

For those of who don't know what a coroner is, one of the things they do is "investigating and identifying preventable deaths". Note, though, that quote is
